AlgoMusic – best non stop music player on the Amiga

AlgoMusic is a software package that composes and plays music. I am quite surprised just how good some tunes sound knowing they are made by algorithms -even today, ten years after I found out about the program first time.

You can set up exactly what kind of tune you like by switches, so if you like acid style techno/house you can specify that, or if you dislike sound samples you can turn them off (but why would you they are actually kinda funny sometimes).

AlgoMusic does not have a proper graphics analyzer but there is an addon called AlgoLightbox on Aminet which does a so-so job on displaying AlgoMusics waves graphically.

So this is definitely a nice program if you like modules and house/techno/acid and AlgoMusic runs from Amiga 500 to 060 based Amiga systems. Check it out now!!!

    Hi,

you may be surprised, but now there is an open source sequel to AlgoMusic called SoundHelix.

You might want to check that out…

I did not know that. Good info, hope there is an Amiga port coming too :)

Sure, it’s written in Java and should also run on the Amiga platform without any changes. 13 years after starting AlgoMusic I decided to start something more powerful. :)

    Sourcecode is available from http://soundhelix.sf.net

Unfortunately Java wont run on Classic Amiga systems (68k) :(

    Maybe on 4.1 :)
